What are some astronomy projects I could do?

Posted on June 2nd, 2010 by admin

I am going to do a science project for a scholarship and I’m not quite sure what I want to do. I really like Astronomy so I think that would be fun. It can be biology, earth science, or astronomy (anything that’s natural). Do you have any suggestions on a project I could do preferably an astronomy one?

The Actual Astronomy of 2012 – Absolutely Amazing! (In HiQ)

Posted on June 1st, 2010 by admin

All my 2012 essays are here: www.2012essays.com. Since both the Maya calendar and metaphorical stories are based on the underlying astronomy, it can be very helpful to understand this astronomy. This is fun and easy to do as long as we take it a little bit at a time. For me personally, the more I dug into this material, the more mind-blowing it all became! How is our astronomy that we know today related to the ancient greek one (with gods and rulers)?

Posted on May 28th, 2010 by admin

How did their mythology influence our astronomy today? Why were gods in the sky invented, to have people follow a rulers lead, is any of that documented (scholarly, not just an opinion)?
But how did they know which planets are bigger than earth and where is that documented? I need to cite things.

Greeks weren’t actually very far off. They believed Gods lived int he sky, were bigger etc. i.e. Jupiter a massive planet compared to that of our own. Jupiter a.k.a. Zeus THe king of the gods and the strongest and the most influential entity in the greek mythology. examples like this one is found through out the greek mythology, when compared to the known universe.

What are some high paying astronomy related jobs?

Posted on May 25th, 2010 by admin

I love space and astronomy and I just want to know if there are high paying astronomy jobs and what they are. But nothing that has to do with going up into space.

I am sure that NASA engineers make a good amount of money. They probably hire astronomy people for things like interpreting what they see in the Hubble Telescope. And since they are a government run agency they will probably over pay.

The Actual Astronomy of 2012 – Absolutely Amazing!

Since both the Maya calendar and metaphorical stories are based on the underlying astronomy, it can be very helpful to understand this astronomy. This is fun and easy to do as long as we take it a little bit at a time. It won’t take us very long to lay out all the information yet you may find yourself pondering this subject more deeply for quite awhile. For me personally, the more I dug into this material, the more mind-blowing it all became. Perhaps you will have a similar experience.

What high school classes are required for astronomy, and astrophysics?

Posted on May 18th, 2010 by admin

I’m going into the eleventh grade and want a career in astronomy, or astrophysics but I don’t know what classes I need to take for them. Plz help!

Just your basic core classes, but try to do honors science and math (particularly physics) and succeed in them. If your high school has an astronomy class, then take that, but I doubt it.
